A while ago Accutranslate reported on a Cat language translation device. We didn’t expect to be seeing anything like it again, but kitty translation seems to be a growing industry!
Now there is a cat collar that translates your cat’s meows into English. We thought this must be an April Fool, but apparently it’s serious – there’s even a rather odd video of the collar translating the cat saying “hello”. Unfortunately it’s not very exciting and leaves you thinking “is that it?”
Temptations Lab, who claim to have invented the cat translation device (still not convinced, guys…) say they have analysed cat sounds and then created a programme that detects a cat’s meow and matches it to a human voice. It’s provided via an app where you can choose your cat’s voice.
Accutranslate do not have a cat to test this product – do any of our readers want to have a go and report back on whether or not this is a leap forward in translation?
In the meantime, if you need a translation from another human language into English or from English into a European, Asian or African language, do ask us – but please don’t ask us to translate into cat!
